Some Honeymoon by ~WolfEmpress:iconWolfEmpress:

"There we go," the Doctor said.

Astrid replied, "Thank you sir, I can manage."

"I never said you couldn't, I'm The Doctor by the way," he added.

Eve rolled her eyes.

"Astrid, sir, Astrid Perth."

The Doctor smiled. "Nice to meet you Astrid, Merry Christmas."

"Merry Christmas sir," Astrid replied.

"Just Doctor, not sir."
Eve waved. "And I'm Eve," she broke in, smiling pointedly.

"You enjoying the cruise?" Astrid asked him nicely.

The Doctor looked uncomfortable. "Erm ... yeah, I suppose, I don't know, it doesn't quite work, a cruise on your own..."
Eve looked at him oddly.

Astrid glanced at Eve, and then back at the Doctor, confused. The she asked, "You're not with anyone?"

The Doctor shook his head. "No, no, just me,  just err used to be but er no."

Eve crossed her arms and went out of her way to sit in a direction that was most definately not facing the Doctor.

"So you travel a lot?" Astrid went on the ask, suddenly aware of Eve and her feelings, then she noticed the rings - one on the Doctor's finger and one on Eve's finger.

The Doctor nodded, oblivious. "All the time, just for fun, well that's the plan, it never quite works."
"That's not the only plan that's failed around you," Eve muttered darkly.

"I see you're rich though," Astrid said lightly, pointing offhandedly at the diamond on Eve's finger.

"Haven't got a penny," the Doctor replies, then adds in a whisper, "stowaway..."
Astrid gives him a look. "I should report you."

The Doctor gives her a nod. "Go on then," he says.

Astrid pauses, then glances at the rings again, before casting a sympathetic look in Eve's direction. "I'll get you a drink."

After Astrid walked away, Eve turned to the Doctor. "Why'd you tell that waitress that you were alone? I was sitting right here." she asked, trying not to let on that she was hurt.

"Huh? Oh," the Doctor said. "Playing it cool. Aw, come on, you didn't really think I was serious, did you? Did she?" He asked, suddenly worried.

Eve frowned. "Yes, I did. And I bet she did too." She looked away, hating the tears in her eyes. "You're not here alone, you freak."

The Doctor looked taken aback. "Well, no, of course not, I---" He trailed off. "I'm sorry," he added more quietly. "Really."

Eve turned to face him, slowly, reluctantly. "Oh?"

"Oh."

Eve sighed, sniffing. "Oh." A beat. Then, "Some honeymoon."

"What? Oh, right, right," he replied, nodding.

"You forgot, didn't you?" Eve said after a moment. When he didn't answer, she added, "I figured."

Suddenly, and when Eve thought she couldn't possibly be any more hurt, he stood abruptly and walked off to the far end of the bar.

Eve looked down, tears welling in her eyes and falling down her cheeks. Then she felt a tap on her shoulder.

There stood the Doctor, holding a red rose in his hand and a small smile on his face. He looked at her pointedly, took her hand, and bowed slightly, saying, "Forgive me?"

Eve just stared for a moment, them threw her arms around him. "I guess I'll have to," she replied, then pulled away.

The Doctor took her hand again and kissed it, presenting her with the rose.

"What do I do with this?" She asked him. "I mean, thank you, it's lovely. but I can't carry it around all day... or... however long we're here. On the Titanic. The unsinkable ship, you know," she added, making a point, telling him in her own way that they'd better be off this ship in time.

"I know," he replied, in his own way letting her know he understood and would do better than his best. He hoped.

"Here," Eve said, ripping the flower part of the rose of the stem, and, taking a pin out her pocket, pinned it to his jacket. "Now don't you look debonair," she finished, patting him lightly.

"Suave too, I hope," he added, winking.

"Is is just me," Eve interrupted, "or does her name mean TARDIS part?"

"What?"

"Astrid. It's a word scramble. Y'know. And it translates to TARDIS. And Perth... well that's Welsh for part."

The Doctor looked thoughtful and impressed. "Well, I'm impressed," he said, smiling. I mean it. Really really impressed. Really. Really really."

"And I'm insulted," was Eve's response.

"What? Why?"

She rolled her eyes. "Because. You make it sound like I never think of anything."

"Well, that's not true."

"And speaking of Astrid, could you maybe not flirt with her anymore? Geez. I'm you're wife!"

The Doctor took her hand. "I know. I'm sorry, love. But... oh! Come on, let's enjoy this cruise. We may be on the Titanic, but it's still a sort of honeymoon. I mean, we never really got one, so... yeah. Anyway, what's a better honeymoon than a good mystery?"

Eve just stared at him again. "Gee, I don't know. How about quality "couple time", and ma--"

Mr Copper suddenly said, "Red Six Seven, this way, if you could convene, fast as you can, Red Six Seven departing shortly." Morvin and Foon hurried towards him, and the Doctor and Eve followed - Astrid just passing by.
"I got you that drink--" Astrid started to say.

The Doctor interrupted her, saying, "And I got you a treat! C'mon--" He took the tray, slammed it down, and pulled Astrid across, fast, along with Eve. In order to join Mr Copper, the Doctor showed his psychic paper and finished, "Red Six Seven, plus two."
Eve rolled her eyes again.

LOL! Breathe! *searchs* *waits for it to load* LOL! IT's funny. Everytime I finish replying to the messages, there are more. x-X Anyway. Geez. My dA page is so slow and laggy. I type things and have to wait five minutes for it to actually appear. And it's constent refreshing? Not fun. Here we are then. [link] Lemme see if I can find a better one though. They all seem to be about the same quality. Here's another. [link] Just by looking at it, a guess for what is to come, with the women in the red dresses at the beginning. I think they're the one's that you see picking up the ring at the end of LotTL. But that's just a guess. A simple hypothosis from that trailer.
